Since Old Edwards is more than a golf club, but also a resort and spa, does that change the demographics of your golfers?
We have a good mix of members and resort guests. The majority of our members are here seasonally, May-October, and the resort guests will stay anywhere from a night to a week.

As part of a destination resort, what is the biggest travel trend impacting your business?
People are trending towards quick weekend getaways and two-to-three night stays instead of the traditional week-long vacation.

With many of your golfers at Old Edwards for more than just golf, how do you package activities for guests?
We offer a variety of different golf packages. Packages are available for a single golfer, couples,
wedding groups and corporate groups. We also offer spa and dining packages for those with a group who aren’t interested in playing golf, but still want to enjoy the rest of what Old Edwards has to offer.

What options do your offer for the non-golfer in the family visiting Old Edwards?
As mentioned above, we also offer spa and dining packages for the non-golfers.

Marketing for a destination golf course is different than local courses. What has been your most successful marketing effort?
We market the facilities in a variety of different ways from the traditional print ads in magazines
and billboards in some of our target markets like Atlanta and Charlotte. Also, over the past couple of years we’ve been more involved on social media sites like Instagram, Facebook and Twitter.

Are there any unique activities you offer your golfers beyond traditional play?
We’re really excited we’re getting ready to open a new 12-hole, par 3 course next month. There’s definitely been a movement in golf to make the game more enjoyable for people of all playing abilities. That includes making courses that are easier and quicker to play without sacrificing the experience of being out on the golf course, playing.
